The Santiago Sur, SLU group is directly involved in the shared effort to make the economic development of its activity (provision of accommodation services) compatible with the protection of our particular island environment, in order to provide future generations with a prosperous and healthy environment.
We believe that the implementation of environmental quality and energy practices is a key factor in proper business management to ensure the continuity of our business in the future.
For this reason, the management of Santiago Sur, SLU has considered implementing in its facilities the UNE-EN ISO 14.001 - Environmental Management System, the UNE-EN ISO 50.001 - Energy Management System and the EMAS Regulation.
To achieve this objective, we have not only set up our environmental and energy policy, but we are also committed to the periodic review of our services, to the establishment of environmental and energy objectives, to the verification of compliance with our policy and to the application of continuous improvement.
Aware of the importance of protecting the environment around us and reducing our energy consumption, we have developed an integrated management system that aims to prevent the negative impacts of our activity. Thus, our activities and facilities must always be conceived from the perspective of sustainability, preventing pollution and minimising negative impacts through the sustainable use of resources, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, and the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems. In addition, we are committed to ensuring the availability of the resources necessary to achieve our energy objectives and targets, the procurement of energy-efficient products and services, and support for design activities that improve our energy performance.
Finally, we are also committed to complying with all legal and other environmental and energy requirements applicable to the organisation and are committed to making our staff aware of the principles contained in this document, which is provided to them.
This policy will be reviewed every year and will be adapted to the realities of the organisation and the destination in which it is located.
Signed and sealed in Arona, 27 January 2022.
